Abstractions
To see things fractally- that is to say, to percieve the whole in a small fragment. This is the appeal for me in doing this type of work. Entire landscapes consist in these minute instances of rusting metal, pealing paint. And I find the activity of seeing in this way immensely quieting, profoundly focused. It is as pure an excersize in seeing as I know of, and endlessly fascinating, variable and surprising.
